Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has revealed he is open to the possibility of playing in Brazil once his time at the Emirates comes to an end.
The 33-year-old, who has earned over 50 caps for Italy but was born and raised in Brazil, is set to become a free agent in the summer unless he agrees on a contract extension with Arsenal.
Brazilian giants Flamengo were interested in signing Jorginho in January, but Arsenal opted to keep him for the remainder of the season. However, Flamengo remain keen on securing his services in the summer and are reportedly prepared to offer him a three-year deal worth around £8 million.

Currently on holiday in Rio de Janeiro with his wife, Jorginho spoke to ESPN Brasil about his curiosity regarding a potential return to his homeland.

“I don’t believe that I missed out. But I am curious, today, to know what it’s like [to play in Brazil], to experience it,” Jorginho said. “For my growth, playing professionally in Europe was not a problem. What helped me was when I was a child, playing barefoot on the street and on the beach in Brazil. That helped me a lot in terms of developing my contact with the ball.”

Flamengo sporting director, José Boto, confirmed that the club is awaiting Jorginho ’s decision and expressed optimism about securing his signature.
“Right now, the ball is in his court, and he usually treats the ball well,” Boto said. “I hope he treats it well in a way that benefits both him and us—meaning he will come to Flamengo. If everything goes well, he will play in the [Club] World Cup for Flamengo.”
With the Brazilian league season concluding in May, clubs are expected to finalise transfers in time for the FIFA Club World Cup. Jorginho’s decision in the coming weeks could determine whether he returns to Brazil or continues his career in Europe.
