After securing their first-ever Bundesliga title following the signing of Granit Xhaka from Arsenal in the summer of 2023, Bayer Leverkusen could once again turn to North London for reinforcements. Polish defender Jakub Kiwior has emerged as a potential target for the German champions, according to TuttoSport.
Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is preparing for a significant squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer window, with several departures expected. Meanwhile, Arsenal will be focusing not only on new arrivals but also on offloading players who no longer fit into Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans. With the Gunners setting their sights on a Premier League title push, squad management will be a crucial aspect of their summer strategy.
Kiwior, who joined Arsenal from Spezia for £20 million in January 2023, has struggled for regular game time. Despite showing promise, he has made only nine appearances across all competitions this season.

The 24-year-old had previously expressed a desire to leave in search of more opportunities, but Arteta opted to retain him during the winter window. With Leverkusen now showing concrete interest, Kiwior could finally be set for a move to Germany.

In addition to Kiwior, Arsenal could see further defensive departures, with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney also linked with summer exits. Zinchenko has endured a frustrating season, struggling for minutes following the summer arrival of Riccardo Calafiori.

The Ukrainian international was initially a deputy at left-back, but the emergence of 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly has pushed him even further down the pecking order. Despite expectations that he would leave in January, no move materialised.
Meanwhile, Tierney is reportedly on the verge of sealing a return to former club Celtic, having agreed to a pre-contract deal. The Scottish defender, who has been sidelined by injuries and increased competition, had attracted interest from several European clubs but now looks set for a homecoming to Glasgow.
