Newcastle United star Alexander Isak has addressed growing speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal. The Swedish striker has been on the Gunners’ radar for some time, and with Mikel Arteta prioritising a high-profile striker signing ahead of the new season, Isak is reportedly at the top of his wishlist.
Despite Arsenal’s interest, Newcastle are expected to resist any bids for their talisman. The Magpies value Isak at over £100 million and are keen to secure his long-term future, with contract talks reportedly planned at the end of the season.
When asked about the links to Arsenal, Isak reaffirmed his commitment to Newcastle and emphasised his focus on securing Champions League qualification—a competition Arsenal are set to return to, while Newcastle remain in a battle to secure their place.

“There’s not much to say, really,” Isak told Fotbollskanalen. “I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times. It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there.

“I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we’ve won the cup, but we want to finish strong and qualify for the Champions League. That’s where my focus lies.”

Alexander Isak played a crucial role in Newcastle’s recent Carabao Cup triumph, scoring the second goal in a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Wembley—securing the club’s first major trophy in 70 years.
Following the final, the striker immediately joined up with the Sweden national team and has yet to return to Newcastle. Reflecting on the historic win, he added: “Things like that can’t be described. I think you can only imagine how it feels. But it’s an incredible feeling—Wembley packed with all the Newcastle fans there.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what Newcastle is like as a city after that. I haven’t been back yet.”
