Arsenal have been handed a significant boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Fulham, with Bukayo Saka fit and available to start, according to manager Mikel Arteta. The 23-year-old winger has been sidelined since December after suffering a hamstring injury but is now ready to return to action.
Saka has not featured since tearing his hamstring during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on December 21. However, after undergoing surgery and completing a thorough recovery process, he has now rejoined full training. Arteta confirmed on Monday that the England international is eager to make his comeback.
“Bukayo is ready to go,” said Arteta. “The careful things are already done, so now it’s about putting him on the grass at the right moments. But he is pushing because he really wants it.”

Arsenal took a cautious approach with Saka’s rehabilitation, ensuring he fully recovered before reintegrating him into the squad. Arteta expressed confidence in his fitness, emphasising that the club had followed the necessary steps to avoid any setbacks.

“We have respected the time frame, we have done everything,” Arteta said. “We had to hold him back even, so now he is ready to go.” When asked if Saka could start against Marco Silva’s side, Arteta confidently responded, “Yeah, yeah.”

Saka’s return comes at a crucial time for Arsenal, who currently sit second in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool. The Gunners are preparing for a crucial run-in, with nine league games remaining and a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on the horizon.
“He is another massive weapon,” Arteta added. “We know the impact he has had on the team and how important his role and his contribution is to our success, so it’s great to have him back.”
Arteta highlighted Saka’s energy and passion for the game, noting how much he had missed playing. “It’s the energy he transmits, that he has missed the thing that he loves the most in his life, which is to be around the team, to play, to train, and compete at the highest level. The fact he is able to come in at the most important part of the season is a massive boost for him and to the team as well.”
