RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, with Champions League football being a key factor in his decision-making for next season.

Since his emergence at Red Bull Salzburg, Sesko has been widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young forwards. His successful transition to the Bundesliga with Leipzig has only enhanced his reputation, as he has netted 35 goals and provided eight assists in 78 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich all reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation.

According to Bild, Sesko is seeking a transfer that guarantees him regular first-team football. While Bayern Munich believe he could be content with a backup role, reports suggest the 21-year-old has no interest in sitting on the bench behind Harry Kane. If the German champions are serious about signing him, they may need to adjust their tactical setup or reconsider Kane’s role in the squad.

A significant factor making Sesko an attractive target for top clubs is his relatively reasonable release clause. His current contract allows him to leave for £58.5 million, though this figure could rise to £66.9 million if certain performance-based milestones are met. Additionally, reports indicate that Leipzig might be open to negotiating a transfer around £58.5 million, making him a cost-effective option for clubs seeking a young and prolific striker.

Sesko is not the only striker in high demand, as the 2024 summer transfer window is expected to feature intense competition among clubs looking to secure world-class attacking talent.

Arsenal explored a move for Sesko during the January transfer window and are reportedly prioritising him as their primary centre-forward target this summer. Bild reports that Leipzig have a ‘handshake agreement’ with the player, promising to consider offers of £58.5 million or more.

In addition to Sesko, Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
