Following Sunday’s thrilling 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Arsenal, a Premier League supercomputer has made fresh predictions for the 2024-25 season. Arsenal were seconds away from securing a crucial victory at the Etihad, but John Stones’ dramatic equaliser in the 98th minute denied them all three points.

The draw leaves Arsenal in fourth place after five games with 11 points, while Manchester City sit atop the table with 13 points. Liverpool and Aston Villa hold second and third place, respectively, both with 12 points.

As the early title race takes shape, fans are eager to see how the season will unfold. The supercomputer has weighed in, predicting the final standings for the Premier League.

According to the supercomputer’s forecast, Manchester City are expected to claim the Premier League crown once again, finishing the season with 84.5 points. Arsenal are tipped to fall just short, finishing second with 76.6 points.

Liverpool are projected to take third place with 75.4 points, while Chelsea round out the top four with 67.3 points, securing the final Champions League spot. Manchester United are predicted to miss out, finishing fifth, followed by Aston Villa in sixth, Tottenham in seventh, and Newcastle United in eighth.

Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher echoed the supercomputer’s sentiment, also backing Manchester City to win the title. Reflecting on the dramatic Etihad encounter, Carragher said on a Sky Sports podcast, “I still think Man City have a bit more. When I look at the squads and their attacking power… Kevin De Bruyne didn’t even play today. I just think City have the edge.”

While the race remains tight, Carragher believes City’s depth and quality in attack give them the advantage over their rivals.
