Arsenal defender William Saliba has brushed aside speculation linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid, insisting he is happy at the Emirates and focused on the club’s ambitions.
The 23-year-old French centre-back has been a standout performer for Arsenal, attracting interest from top European clubs, with Real Madrid reportedly keen to strengthen their ageing defensive line. However, speaking ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against PSV Eindhoven, Saliba made his stance clear.
Saliba on his future: “For me, I’m really happy here. I’ve been here for two and a half years as well. There is nothing [to the rumours]. I’m happy here and I want to continue here.”

Saliba’s current contract runs until the summer of 2026, and while there have been no discussions yet over a new deal, he is in no rush.
On potential contract talks: “Not yet, because there are still some years left, so there is no rush at the minute. I’m happy here, that’s it.”

The defender also emphasised his desire to achieve success with Arsenal, a club he has supported since childhood.
“Yeah, of course I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you love this club, and it didn’t mean anything, of course I want to win big things here.”

Should Arsenal and Real Madrid progress past PSV and Atletico Madrid, respectively, Saliba could face the Spanish giants in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Arsenal have yet to win a major trophy during Saliba’s time at the club, and the Champions League now represents their best chance of silverware this season. The Gunners hold a commanding 7-1 lead over PSV in the tie, but their Premier League title hopes have taken a hit, with Mikel Arteta’s side 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool after a three-game winless run.
For now, Saliba’s focus remains on Arsenal’s European ambitions, with a deep Champions League run firmly in his sights.
